The Brain on Screens: EEG Markers of Brain Homeostasis versus Deregulation and how excessive Screen use can interfere with successful outcomes in Neuro and Biofeedback interventions.

With countries and states banning cell phones in schools, social media for under 18, and legalizing boundaries of work/home device use, society is catching up with the science that certain types of use / excess are not good for our brains and biology.  But are bans necessary? Are there better solutions? And how can you tell if excess screen interactive screen use is interfering with brain health?

This presentation will explore explicit EEG markers associated with excess (interactive technology interference on the EEG) versus typical modern use (healthy integration).  Dr. Mari Swingle will demonstrate the connection with excess and the development or ‘manufacturing’ of ADHD, anxiety and depression as well as the broader effects on the socio-emotional and cognitive development of children. She will also look at the matured brain and EEG patterns seen rather universally across the life span.
