Package Description

Passive Infrared Hemoencephalography (pIR HEG) Neurofeedback is a noninvasive technology which focuses on the training of the prefrontal cortex utilizing an entirely passive signal. It has been observed to be helpful with migraine headaches and with self-regulation, inhibition of excessive responses, emotional tolerance, self-awareness, and coping self-efficacy across diagnostic groups. A framework for understanding pIR HEG prefrontal neurofeedback will be presented. The implementation of Carmen’s pIR HEG (EZ PIR) system in a typical session will be described. In addition, Dr. Tyrrell Baker will discuss recent clinical research pointing to how this type of Neurofeedback can be helpful in the treatment of anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Two case examples will be presented in depth with a session by session look at clinical progress.

What will I learn:

  1. Participants will be able to describe two or more potential clinical applications for pIR HEG neurofeedback.
  2. Participants will be able to describe two unique aspects of implementing pIR HEG sessions.
  3. Participants will be able to describe the framework for understanding pIR HEG outcomes in patients with anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma.
  4. Participants will be able to name four categories of changes we can observe across different diagnoses/ presenting problems with this type of neurofeedback.
